This view is supposed to be looking east, according to the directional sign for NYS Route 67. However, it is easy to lose one’s sense of orientation in Johnstown (and Gloversville). This view is of the intersection of North/South William and East Main streets in downtown. Photo taken 4 July 2002.

A haven for stainless steel

This city of 9000 people, located tangent to Gloversville, is a beautiful old colonial town. It also its own look when it comes to signals. All city-maintained signals use stainless-steel trusses, and it is classic.

One of the signals is a pagoda-style signal.

Yellow visors are showing.
