After the accident, the signal was reconstructed. The old signal head was dismantled; four 12-inch signals (probably TCT) were put in the fixed signal head. The signal head remained in a light color, though it was a light gray (like the MDC signals in Boston). More recently, the signal head received a coat of green paint, and a copper-colored spike on top. Photo taken 4 July 2002.

The signal in the middle of the road is not the only historic unit. There is another “oldie” one block away.
